  1. This quote was very interesting. It was very good and when you look into it with an interest you see that even though it is a small, tiny, and overlooked quote it truly means a lot more. At first it looks very small and unimportant but as you go deeper into the meaning of it, the quote becomes very elaborate and complex. This quote became more amazing as you went more into the "meat" of it. When I say meat of the quote I mean the more complex and significant part of the quote. The first part of the quote that I'm going to cover is when the author says, "Do it now." This part of the quote doesn't have too much significance, importance, nor meaning. Although this part does lead a good "entrance" or leading to the other parts of the quote. What the author means when they say " Do it now" is that they want you to stop procrastinating and stalling and do what ever your were planning or do something in general. This part is a little bit inspirational to me but it also is a little to short to give any significant meaning. Like I already said this part of the quote leads very well into the next part of the quote, "Sometimes later becomes never." When I first heard this part I got reminded of something. I guess you could call that deja vu. I remembered when Clash of Clans, a game that you could download on the Ipad, was a trending topic. I started playing to impress my friends on the level of my town hall. I took a very long time to get to it. Eventually Clash of Clans stopped trending and I barely started the game. I kept telling myself that I was going to play more and more of it eventually. I got busier and had more things to do. This lead to me never playing the game again. Eventually due to data and storage problems I deleted Clash of Clans without regretting or even thinking about it. I also remembered another story while reading this quote. This was similar in a way because it was over a trending topic. As you can see I am into lots of trends. While loom bands were popular when I was little everyone loved loom bands. Everyone had one including adults, kids, seniors. The only one who didn't have one was me. So I begged my father to get me a loom band kit. I made the simplest loom bands and I loved making them. Soon I tried to challenge myself by trying to make a big and complex loom band. Once again it stopped trending. I eventually gave up on it and moved to the next trending topic. I still haven't made that loom band yet. After remembering this story I tried find my loom bands again. Turns out it was hid deep in my closet. I hoped you like my stories and how they compared to this quote.

  2. I agree with this quote. I think that everyone should follow this quote. If you wait to do something after wards, you might not end up doing it. If you wait till the very end you also might not do well under the pressure. I think everyone from teachers to parents, children to even the president should all follow this rule. It will make life simpler and you will not have to work under pressure. Plus, you can do your best and don’t have to worry about other people depending on you. If you wait to do something it might never be done. You will keep telling yourself that “Oh I will do it tomorrow!” When that day comes you say again “Oh I have a few more days. I can do it tomorrow. There is nothing to worry about!” When you keep postponing your work you might not even ever do it. In the rest of your worries, it might be completely forgotten. Then when you don’t have it when the work is needed, you will be upset that you didn’t finish it when you had the chance to. “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’. This quote shows the result of some peoples careless actions. This quote reminds me of a time when I experienced “Never finishing something on time” I was I think 10 years old in 4th grade when my teacher gave us a project to do. She gave us 2 months to complete it. Every day, I kept telling myself I will finish the next day. “I’ll finish tomorrow, I have too much homework today and I don’t feel like doing it anyway. Besides it seems easy enough.” I kept thinking to myself. Every day I kept postponing it another day. Then after a few days, I continued to postpone to the next week. Then the next month. Soon my teacher at the beginning of the week of February, told us that our projects were due next Monday. I was freaking out. I had barely token a glimpse of the paper that had the project instructions on it. I thought I had still had at least two or three more weeks left to finish my project. I guess I was wrong. “Oh man! I have got to get started on this project before I fail this for a grade.” I was starting to panic. I looked at the paper saying that the assignment was to make a poster about what invention you want to make when you grow up. I thought that that was easy enough. I had done the same exact project in third grade. I went home and bought a new poster but had all my old facts on the new board. Then on Friday, my teacher told us that we couldn’t do the same projects as last year so I had to redo and make u a knew project. It came out to be only an essay and a drawing on the back of the paper of my invention. It was soooo bad. I got a B+ on my report. This is an example of the meaning of this quote. “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER BECOMES ‘NEVER’. At first I have to admit that this quote since it is small may have no meaning and you say that it also may be useless but the truth is, in my opinion it is the most important quote of all time. It applies to everyone and anyone. This is what I think this quote means.

  3. They say that tomorrow never comes. That makes sense because if today is Thursday, then tomorrow is Friday. But when Friday comes, it is no longer tomorrow. It is today. That is when tomorrow becomes Saturday and then Sunday and so on. Therefore, tomorrow never comes. This quote is very similar to the one assigned. If you say “I’ll do it later,” and keep postponing it, you will never finish it. If you say that you will do it tomorrow, the next day you will say you will do it the day after. That tomorrow you were talking about never comes. Both quotes mean that you should not put to tomorrow what you can do today. When it says later becomes never I thought that later is never. It is the same thing as tomorrow. Both of them are words that compare another time to now. As now keeps on changing, so does tomorrow and later. The only difference between tomorrow and later is that tomorrow is more precise. Later can mean any time in the future. But as long as time keeps moving, so do today, tomorrow and “later”.The quote reminded me about that saying. I think that is valuable advise for everyone to follow. If you finish it today you won’t have to worry about doing it tomorrow. If you keep pushing it forward, you will have to worry about eventually doing it one day. If you do it at the last minute you might forget something or do a poor job on it because of the rush. It is something that all procrastinators need to hear. I can understand them however. I just don’t feel like doing it and don’t even when I know it is wrong sometimes. However, after reading the quote I feel that I shouldn’t have done the things I had. I know that there are billions of procrastinators out there and many much worse than me but it is important to be productive and not let a single moment of your life be wasted. If you are bored, study or do homework and not sit there complaining. I think what this quote says to do is the best way to be productive; and it is good to be productive because efficiency can get you places in life. No matter what your career choice is, you have to be efficient. For example, scientist must not postpone his experiments, a director can’t keep postponing rehearsals and an artist can’t wait too long until he makes his next painting. If the do any of that they won’t be able to get anywhere in life. You can’t do what you do best until you actually do it. That is what I understood from the quote. In conclusion, if you want to be a great person, you have to be efficient; If you want to be efficient, you have to be productive. If you want to be productive you have to do it now. That is how I react to this quote.

  6. “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’. The consequences for not following this has happened a few times to me, resultantly I can relate to this, so I don't have a startled reaction. This quote makes sense, because a few people have said they will do something in the future, but they never do. Those people then even forget about what they had promised. For example, I once got a good grade on a standardized test, and could go and take the quiz for the John Hopkins Test, which unfolds new classes, and goes into your record for college as a good thing. It seemed great, however it had a deadline. I said I will do it tomorrow every day until the deadline. In the end, I never got to take the test, and never got the wonderful opportunity to go to the places that has the best teaching facilities. I also once put off a science project in fourth grade. I kept saying I will do a project with my friend Manas (who said we should do at least 6 topics, and I am not joking), but didn't even finish 1 in the end. We couldn't go to the science because we brainstormed until the last minute, never getting it done in the end. I also once had a story with my ripstik. I used to ride around on it, but couldn’t do it that good. I kept telling myself ‘Naman, you will learn eventually, and will be able to do even stunts on it.’ However, as soon as the trend ended, I also decided to call it a day, and stopped riding the ripstik. In the end, I could ride it exceptionally well and was one of the best, but never learned how to do stunts on it. This goes along with going with the trend, and speaking of that, I downloaded Pokemon go, and played on it for a long time. Wanting to become the top player on earth, I actually had a decent chance. I had control of around 10 gyms which nobody fought against given my pokemon power, and was a level 35 with a lead Pokemon of Mew Two sporting an unbelievable cp of 4125 in one of my gyms, along with a Ho-oh in another gym of 4050 before I lost time to play, and I quit it. I could have beaten the best player on earth possibly! Thus “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’ applies to this situation as well. I also had many assignments due once in fifth grade the next week, which consisted of an essay I planned to put a ton of fun into and drawing a picture. Actually, looking back, I did okay. I had a weekend and 1 weekday to do my work, so I set aside 1 hour a weekend, but that didn’t stop the homework from still being overwhelming by working on it 7 hours straight. In the end I thought I should have kept aside at least 2 hours 30 minutes, which would have decreased my workload to 2 hours that day, which would have caused some considerable feelings of liberation that day. I think that This quote brings back a number of unpleasant memories for me, and I follow it nowadays, and am able to manage my day with ease. For example, I usually finish my projects early, I finish my blog pretty fast in G&T, and for extensive assignments, I do at least 2 hours every weekend, and 30 minutes every weekday, which adds up to 4 hours and 30 minutes, which is ample time for me. And this quote also makes me feel a twinge of guilt when I don’t follow this rule.

  7. This quote might not seem much at first but if you read again you might realize this is true. Many people say they will do things later but never get to it. I am one of those people. I tell people I am going to do something, but later I eventually forget about it and I don’t actually do it. The first part of the quote says “Do it now.” this tells you that you shouldn’t wait to do things and do it at the moment. This part also tells you that you should stop stalling to do something and just do it. It can also tell you that you should stop planning when to do it and just do it. The other part says “Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never.’” This is a quote that everyone should follow because a lot of people say “Oh I have until next month, I will do it later.”. Then time passes and they forget about it and do it last minute. Some people also say “I will do it tomorrow.” and end up never doing it. If everyone followed this quote there would be a happier world. I know it seems crazy saying that, but a lot more people would keep their promises and a lot of things would be done in the world. This quote should be read by many and followed by all. It would make this world a better and happier place. One experience that I had where this quote could of helped me was in 3rd grade. I had a math packet and language arts packet do in a week. Guess what i did. I kept saying that it was do in 7 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days and so on until it was the day before it was do. I had to do so much work that day that I stayed up until 1 o’clock in the morning. If I had followed the quote I could have done it a little everyday I had it done. After that I didn’t do that anymore I did it as soon as i could and it never happened again. Another example of when this happened to me is when I had a project that my teacher didn’t assign a due date so I didn’t bother starting it so I said I would do it tomorrow. Then I had something to do so weeks passed and then months and my teacher finally said the project is due in three days. I started panicking because I didn’t even look at the paper or do any research. This is another reason why you shouldn’t do things at the last minute and that is what the quote is sort of trying to tell you. It is saying that you should never say later and that's what i did in these examples. This quote is basically telling you that you shouldn’t hold anything off you should go do it without even thinking about doing it another day. If you have time today don’t say you will do it another day because you might end up not having time and being busy. Then you will never do it just how the quote said.

  8. “ Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’.” This one quote can mean a lot of different things. It can mean that you should do things now and stop fooling yourself into thinking you still have time. It can mean that you should stop saying that you will do something later if you can still do it now. It can even mean that the ‘lat’ in later can eventually get transformed into ‘nev’ for never. But to me this means that you should stop procrastinating and just do whatever you need to do, instead of just saying later you should just say now. Procrastination can be a very bad thing, for example with this project itself I kept on saying I’ll do it later every single day. Now I said, “ OH MAN IT’S THE 28th!” So I’m struggling to finish it so I won’t regret not doing it. If you postpone a very important project or an assignment than you will never be able to do it. These different things don’t sound as grim as other words or actions. For example, murder, homicide, massacre, etc. these things sound horrible, disgusting, but words like procrastination or postponement can be much, much, worse. Those words can deny you an amazing life, a great college, a brilliant job, or even important life skills. Doing these things can make you regret your life choices which you should never do. You only live a lifetime about 80 or so years, and if you procrastinate you will waste your precious moments here. You shouldn’t waste a second of your life because it is inefficient to just sit there wondering what to do. If you are in that position yourself then you should just study, or read a book, or eat some cake, or even play some video games but it is just useless to just postpone everything and just be lazy. The greatest of people never do these things, they always have something else to do, the greatest of people never procrastinate or waste their time. If you yourself want to be a great person than you shouldn't procrastinate. If you have a job to fix a website then you should just do it quickly, why wait and make yourself stressed? You will get fired if you take too much and procrastinate everything. If you aren’t productive and use your time wisely then you have to follow this quote; do it now. If you want to do something then you should do it and stop telling yourself that you will eventually do it because you probably won’t, it is just like the quote, it will turn into never. This quote, although it is very small, it is also very influential, it is very important, and it also takes the category of very helpful. Because of the flexibility of this quote, it can apply to lots of people, basically everyone or anyone. Most quotes are more helpful to specific age groups but this quote doesn’t have such barrier it can help seniors or even kindergarteners, all the same. The quote, “ Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’,” can mean a lot but this is what it means to me.

  9. “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’. This quote has a very powerful meaning to it. I know… it’s amazing how just a couple of words can change how we act and what we do. If you think about it, most of us can relate to this quote whether it’s at school, at work, or even at home. “ Go do your homework,” is what some parents would say. But what I hear most of the time is, “I’ll do it later.” This is exactly what this quote is telling us not to do.

The first part of this quote is “DO IT NOW.” This basically tells you not to wait and to… JUST DO IT! Don't let your moments slip away into "someday". This is because, the “someday” will be at the last moment. I guarantee you. This goes into the next part of the quote, “SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’.” When you say “I will do it tomorrow,” you could just use a time machine so you don’t have to keep saying it over and over again. This is because some people are lazy to do it right at the moment so they say, “I'll do it later”. To be honest, I one of those people. It will be our little secret. Anyways, when you keep rejecting to do the work, it slowly turns into never. For example, let’s say that you were given a project a week before it was due. You decided that you will do it tomorrow. You keep saying that I will do it tomorrow until it is the night before the day it was due. So, you had a whole week to work on it which is 7 days, and you didn’t do anything for your project. First, you decided that you were going to do it later, then you don’t do it at all is not good at all, and that doesn’t improve your life either. Now, let’s say that you were given a project a week before it was due, and you were responsible. You would do a little of the project each day. Plus, on the due date, you would get a really good grade. See... now you get it? There is difference between both scenarios. As you can tell, if you do good things, you are more likely to get a better outcome or consequence. Sometimes, to get a good outcome, you should be the first to make it to the finish line. Sometimes, you don’t have to be slow and steady to win the race. If you know that you have to do something then… “Just do it… yesterday you said tomorrow… so just do it!” (That quote comes from a famous motivational video that relates to this topic). Like I said before, I could relate to this. I had a math worksheet to do for homework. I kept telling my mom that I had all the time in the world… I could do it later. By that time it was the middle of the night when I remembered I had to do it. I had to then do my math homework in the middle of the night. It was crazy. I finished my homework, woke up extremely tired, and ended up getting a bad grade. I then realized that I made a bad choice which then gave me a bad outcome. This quote “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER’” is really inspirational. It made me look at goals/objectives in a different way. This is what I think about this quote, but you can think of this quote in a different way.

  10. "DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES 'LATER' BECOMES 'NEVER'" This quote is very inspirational. This relates to very single person living on Earth because everyone says that they will do something later, but they never get to do it. For example, if you tell someone to do something, they might forget to do it, or they forget what you said that instant. Even though this quote does not have much words, it still has a lot of meaning. Sometimes the less the words, the more the meaning. These couple of words could change our actions, behaviors, mind set, and so much more. This quote basically means to just do it because if you do not do it, you will eventually never do it at all. This quote is basically telling you that you should not hold anything off, you should go do it without thinking about it for another second. For example, our parents tell us to clean up our room. We answer them back by saying, "I will do it later." And when most of say that, the next day you will keep on saying, "I will do it later." Eventually, we will never be able to do it because of all the times you postponed it. This quote can have different meanings to different people. I think that this quote means to stop procrasinating and just do it do not even think about it twice, just do it. Other people might think that this means you should do things now and stop fooling yourself into thinking you still have time. It is true. If I had of read this quote when I was in third grade, it would help me to stop leaving all my homework last minute and sleep around one o' clock every Tuesday. Some part of me also tells me that this quote means to follow your heart and take that opportunity becuase one day that opportunity can say goodbye to you and leave you behind. For some people, when they say 'later', they will actually do it later. But for other people when they say 'later', they will never do it. These people have two very different personalities and mind set. I also like how this quote can really effect everyone's life and make them a better person. People might read this quote once and say, 'whatever' because they do not get it. But if they read it like three to four times, they will get it and the quote will strike a lightening of inspiration to them. Some people mght look at this quote and say, 'this does not have any meaning', but to me it means a lot, and it might help me to make me a better person in life, and teach me how to not procrasinate all the time. I feel like this simple quote will effect my life because I always procrasinate in everything that I do. I think that if I procrasinate, I will stop and think beack to this inspirational quote. I think this quote will teach people to use their time wisely.

  11. When you postpone something, you might never get it done. You might tell yourself that you have time next week to get your project done, but you may not, because you don’t know what is going to happen in the future. An event may come up that you have to go to. You might have to babysit your 2 year old cousin, or you may just be too lazy to do it. So, when you have the time to get something done, get something done!
You may delay, but time will not, and lost time is never found again.
    — Benjamin Franklin
Ben Franklin’s quote is a lot like the quote “ Do it now. Sometimes later becomes never.” The time you lose when you decide not to do something cannot be brought back. We take time for granted sometimes. For example, I have a bucket list of things to do before I turn 25 years old, and if I keep delaying the things I want to do, I might never get it done. If someone wants to visit Greece, and they keep saying “ I can go next year,” they might never go to Greece. What you want to do , get it done now, so you won’t have to worry about getting it done later.
Procrastination is also bad for your health. When you put off things for later, you become stressed out, which leads to anxiety. Then, if you start putting off doctor appointments, check-ups, and exercises, the situation only becomes worse. As I said before, Procrastination leads to stress, which causes various illnesses such as headaches, the flu, backaches, and sore throats, even to conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure.
Sometimes, though, doing something later is better(when it doesn’t become never). When you do something really early, you have more time to think about it and then you might come up with more ideas, and you have the urge to add the things you thought of. That is what happened with my glog. Also, if you do something later, it forces us to focus, and makes us work faster.
Personally, I work better and I’m more focused when I work during the last minute because I know I have to focus and I don’t have the time to drift off and daydream, so I stay more focused than I do when I’m working 4 weeks or 5 weeks before the day of the deadline.
Leonardo Da Vinci was a procrastinator, a BIG one, too. His painting, the Mona LIsa, took a whole 16 years to finish. His procrastination came to such a bad point that his benefactor had to threaten him to make him finish his work. Many of Da Vinci’s works are unfinished because he wasn’t able to focus on his paintings.
I think that sometimes, doing something later could become never, and it will have bad effects, but sometimes if you do the opposite, you might have good effects.

  12. Do it now sounds like a parent that really wants you to do it now. But what it actually means is that whatever that you need to do, you should do it now. Because sometimes “later”, becomes never. Which is true. People procrastinate on almost everything! Okay maybe that’s a stretch but still. From homework to their own lives, people constantly say, “I could do it now… But I’ll do it later.” And that later can turn into them lying on their death beds and not having accomplished their dreams. It’s kind of ironic that I’m writing about a quote that talks about not procrastinating… And I’m procrastinating. Anyways, the quote is correct. Do it now. Because you might not be able to do it later. Suppose you have a project due in 2 months and you keep telling yourself, “I have tons of time. I can do it later.” It’s been 1 week and you say to yourself, “I still got tons of time.” But now it’s due in 1 day and you haven’t even started. Either the end result will be really bad or only half done, or you won’t be able to do it all. Because that later eventually becomes never. And this has happened to me numerous times in the past. Mostly when I was in 3rd grade because my procrastination problem has gotten better but that’s beside the point. We had to make a poster about an invention that you would like to see. Stuff like elevated buses so cars can pass underneath, shoes with wheels for people with crutches, etc. I hadn’t thought of anything at the time being since we had well over a month for the project. But there I stood, at the calendar checking the date after ignoring my teachers constant reminders to do the project. On the calendar, I see that the project is due… Tomorrow. I started freaking out. I rushed through it not even taking a quick peek at the clock to check how long I’ve been working for through the night. After I finally finished, I went to sleep and woke up the next morning. I went to school and was super nervous because I had to present my horrible project. And I could say that I got an A on the project because of my amazing skills.. But that didn’t happen. I got a C. To be honest, i’m kind of happy that I did get a C because if I got a good grade like an A, then I wouldn’t have learned anything. Back to the quote, it’s something that you should keep in your mind for the rest of your life. And as cheesy as it may sound, if you don’t do it now and procrastinate, then you’ll never get to do it. So instead of sitting around lazily and making the words “I’ll do it later” your motto, then you will never get anywhere in life. And as how sad that sounds, it’s the truth.

“Do it now. Sometimes “later” becomes “never”

This quote describes a bad habit I’ve been trying to break recently. I know I’m not the only one guilty of doing or saying this to myself “I can always do it later.” People who do this feel like they have to do something but really want to do something else so they tell themselves that they will do it some other time and do what they want first Whenever I have something I don’t want to do,I always tell myself “I have something better to do” or “I can do it later” but eventually that later never becomes never.

This habit can be very stressful in the end because you find yourself doing something at the last minute and things don’t work out very well. For example about four months ago on a Saturday I was bored. I was sitting in my room staring at a wall. I asked myself “What am I doing? I have nothing to do.” That was when I looked around and realized my room was (and still is) a mess. I decided to spend the next hour cleaning when I got a call from a friend asking if I wanted to go to the park. I told myself I can do it later and initially I had intended to. When I got home I saw the room and said “It’s only Saturday… I can still do it tomorrow.” That tomorrow never came, nor did the next one or the next. Even today my room isn’t cleaned and I let myself get fooled by the term “I will do it later.” The point of my story is that even if you do truly want to do something later but you have a chance to do it now you should do it.

The term has one meaning ( at least to me. ) It means that you should do things when you have the opportunity instead of pushing it off into another day, month, or even year. Time is precious and what you will be able to do today, you may not be able to do tomorrow.

Many people not only do this with their chores or work, but with their dreams. As I had previously mentioned, you may not have time to do something later on so if you have the time you should do it now. When you have time to do something you should be doing or something you want to do, don’t think about the other things you could be doing but what you should do. If you have a dream and you really want to do it, I say go for it because you never know if you will ever be able to do it again or some other time

In conclusion never push things off till the last minute. They may be important, or fun, or even your dream. If you know you should do something then “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never.’”

  14. This quote has a deep, inspiring message: “DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES ‘LATER’ BECOMES ‘NEVER.’” This quote proves reality. It shows the importance of doing a certain task on time without any type of delay. We all have to accept that we all say, “I’ll do it later,” because the truth is, tomorrow never comes. Nowadays, individuals do not focus on what is important, but stay focused on things like video games and other entertainment source. Always do your work on time and never procrastinate. We all feel like all of our work can be completed on time, but we never allow that time to come as we are too busy playing around rather than keeping in mind the things that are more important. This is in fact an essential life lesson that should be taken seriously. None of us can predict what will happen in the future, and on incident can screw up your plans of doing your assignment or task “later.” Then you are the only individual to blame for since you didn’t take into account what could interfere with you thinking that you will soon be able to DO IT. Anything can happen that will make your ‘later’ to ‘never’. Think about it. What is more important? Your video game, or your homework assignment? Probably your homework assignment because it actually has an impact in your grades and your life! The whole time you were not doing what was needed to be done, you could have achieved something beneficial. We sometimes tend to take advantage of the things around us, making the value of crucial things go down. People have to realize to not delay an action, because then, that action may never occur. It is amazing how a few words can have such a powerful impact on you and the community around you. This quote gives you a reason to do everything as soon as you possibly can. There are consequences to the actions you do not take. This quote shows encouragement, inspiration, and motivation to take an action now. Learn to not delay the time you have that can possibly go to waste. Don’t waste a single moment in your life because it all matters. You can accomplish way more if you focus on doing things that are to be done, and then moving onto more things your life has to offer for you. The reality is, if you keep postponing your responsibilities, there is no way you are ever going to get it done. Be productive of your time and always think wisely. There is a lot more life has to offer to you then delaying everything you must do. This can become a very bad habit that you have to stay away from. As you grow up, you will get more lazy and not use your time efficiently. Time is the only thing that a person has to worry about as one day it will run out. You may not be able to be as successful at full potential because of this terrible habit you have of delaying. So always remember to keep in mind the value of time, and keep moving forward.

  16. "DO IT NOW. SOMETIMES 'LATER' BECOMES 'NEVER'"

Every time I read this quote I feel this has been written exclusively for me. I am also sure that everyone I know would also relate this quote to the way they perform their day to day activities. If you think about this quote the meaning is so easy to interpret that when you postpone things, they will never get done. If one delays completing their work the less time you will have with you to do your work. We put things off because we don’t want to do them, or because we have too many other things on our plates. Putting things off—big or small—is part of being human. We feel okay about procrastinating while in school, but you worry that this habit will follow you into your working life.

Another way to interpret this quote is that when you have time, get what you need to get done so you don’t have to worry about it later. Procrastinating or pushing things to later will only lead you to become more stressed at the end. There are many bad effects of this habit. One, you would feel so much pressure to get the work done when it is due that you probably can’t think straight. We may end-up missing some or many of the key items relevant to the task we are trying to accomplish. Secondly when we land in this situation there is always a bad feeling – feeling of regret. When we can’t finish something at the end of it, we will regret a lot about not finishing the task at hand. More importantly this habit can lead to issues with our health. When someone gets into the habit of procrastinating and due to the pressure it brings along, one may end-up with health problems like stress fatigue, anxiety, blood pressure and some of these resulting into heart attacks, which may be dangerous to one’s life.

The fact that you procrastinate does not mean that you are inherently lazy or inefficient. It is a habit that has some specific origin, and it is a habit that you can overcome. For most procrastinators, however, there are no quick fixes. You aren’t going to wake up tomorrow and never procrastinate again. But you might wake up tomorrow and do one or two simple things that will help you finish that draft a little earlier or with less stress. From what I have read about procrastinators I found the following reasons why some people tend to put things away to a later time, they fear failure, fear success, fear losing independence, fear being alone or attachment. At the end we have to realize that the time you have wasted can’t be brought back.

I feel that we tend to push things to later because of perfectionism. Whenever we start doing something we want to deliver the best possible answers. We tend to ignore progress towards a goal as success. As long as we don’t finish our essay, we feel as though we aren’t getting anywhere, rather than recognizing that each paragraph moves us closer to a finished product. If we have to accomplish something we should get into the habit of breaking it down. We should define smaller tasks and as we complete each of them we will realize that we are succeeding. Also, we need to change and get a new attitude towards the task. We have to tell ourselves that the task isn’t so bad or difficult, or that we know how to do it, or that we can learn how while doing it. This will help us maintain a more positive attitude and time wasted can’t be brought back. Slowly, we will become better and avoid this bad habit.

  17. I can relate to this quote a lot. Although, it isn’t so good. The quote, “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’,” is very true. Everyone knows that no one is perfect. One of our frequent mistakes are putting things off to later.
For example: a student gets a homework assignment that isn’t due for a whole month. He thinks, “Hey, I have a whole month to complete this. I can do it later.” Pretty soon, “later” gets pushed back closer and closer to the due date, until it is right on the day it is due. But the problem is, he didn’t start it until that very day, the end of the month. He soon feels very sorry for himself for putting the assignment off until the very last minute.
I’m pretty sure lot’s of people are guilty of this. Me included (maybe a bit too often). We think that we have plenty of time to get something done, we use time we could use for working, for doing other activities. That is when punishments come. Take that old fable, “The Grasshopper and the Ant.”

One cold winter, Grasshopper went to Ant’s house and begged for food. Ant asked him, “What were you doing before the winter?”
“Why, I was dancing and playing in the sun!” replied Grasshopper.
“Maybe you should have been working on finding food instead,” said Ant, and shut the door on Grasshopper.

As, I think, most know, the moral of this fable is “Work while the sun still shines.” It is very similar to the quote, “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’,” because they are both trying to drive the same point home: do it now, before you can’t do it anymore. They are both trying to teach a lesson that encourages us to finish our jobs early, so that we don’t have to face the consequences. Take that example of the student earlier. If he is up late at night working on an assignment, he won’t get enough sleep that night. Plus, when his parents find out, they most likely will punish him.
Another example is a document for work. Let’s say your boss gives you a document to fill out and hand it in to him in a week. You think, “That’s plenty of time! I’ll do it later.” You spend the rest of the week having fun with your friends, and completely forget about the document. By the time the week is over, you still haven’t filled out one letter on the document. You come into work that day, empty-handed. Next thing you know, you get one of the worst sentences in the world: “You’re fired!” Now, just because you left something to later, your life is ruined. Now, you have trouble finding a new job because your boss puts that you don’t work hard enough. Just because of one very important document.
Work is usually boring to most people, especially kids. We would much rather play our video games rather that finish a homework assignment. We should still work hard and get it done earlier of so that you can have more time for fun, and avoid the consequences.

  18. This quote is actually pretty interesting. For the most part, it’s true as well. No one knows what will end up happening to the tasks you postpone to “later”. Don’t judge me, but for example, I’m this person that will say later to nine out of ten things, and end up forgetting about five out of nine things. I don’t k now about any of you guys, but I have one thing to say, DON’T BE ME!! Do you guys have any stories? If you don’t want to do something, just tell whoever told you to do it you don’t want to. The crazy part is if it’s a school assignment, we all know how annoying, as well as overwhelming it is. You want the grade but you don’t the work. So be it. Promise yourself an hour with your phone, or a thin mint, or brownies. There’s a lot of stuff you could do. I always end up postponing stuff, and forgetting, like I said before. With that being said for the second time, the consequences are not goo. It’s always an essential to something in the future, because as I said, I forget, and when I get to the future task, I can do nothing but rue. I hope you understand the difficulty. . By the way, if you know, my bro is a lot better than I am. He will finish his work before the fun. Me, not really. This one time, I was supposed to make dinner and got carried away with SpongeBob, and my family had to get pizza because I forgot. That’s pretty much all I have to say about this quote ;). Blogs are pretty interesting. I can figure out what other people think about one thing. No, I’m not trying to be like someone, it’s kind of like a confirmation to make sure I’m still in reality. If you know me really well, you know sometimes, I can drift off into dreams. It’s just me. If you don’t like it----- TOO BAD!! I’m not going to change my ways. Hobbies include basketball, bugging my friends, hanging out, and staring at the wall. Yeah, I do that when I’m bored. I don’t like electronics that much, as I don’t want to get “Text Neck” Yes, that is a disorder for people that are on electronics a lot. No, you can’t die from it, its just a malfunction in you body.

  19. This quote is like a silent killer. It may be short but each and every word holds a complex and elaborate meaning. It shows how laziness becomes your personality. This reminded me of another quote, “Your habits become your personality and your personality becomes your destiny.” This quote goes deeper than that. “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never,’ what an amazing thought, how this person put a whole another subject into a few words. This makes me think about it and make me go deeper and think about how this influenced my life. For example, take this blogpost, I told my parents I’ll do it later and guess what, I got so lazy and forgot that now its past the due date. This quote definitely applies to me even though I don’t like to admit it. I could think of a million scenarios where I said I would do it later and I end up not doing it till I want to. For example the most common scenario that many kids do. Their teacher gives them a project like months before it’s due. The kid keeps thinking, “ It’s easy, I will do it later,” and they end up doing it the day before or after it’s due and get a bad grade because they did it in a rush or they got points off for handing it in late. This quote also makes me think about how technology has impacted our lives. Now you might think, what does technology have to do with this? Well, when you’re busy playing on your phone or doing something on a device, you forget what is going on around you. Honestly, technology has made lives so lazy that to get rid of that laziness, people go to great heights. But why I ask myself, why? If you could not be lazy in the first place and “Do it now” then no one would even have to make this quote. For example, if NASA said they would do the important experiments and inventions later, America would not get far in it journey. If a scientist said they would do their experiments later, if a pharmacist stopped making cures to medicines, if Thomas Edison didn’t make the lightbulb just because he said, “I’ll do it later,” the U.S wouldn’t have come this far, they wouldn’t of had the most advanced space program, they wouldn’t even have any helpful inventions and why would all of this be true, because of the word, later. But technically, later never comes. For example, when you say I’ll do it later, that ‘later’ always comes and it becomes the present so TECHNICALLY there is no later but it is just a word we use to say not right now but “later.” Right now, this world is getting better little by little, it’s like a baby crawling trying to get to its milk, but what if right now, every single person in this world said, “Ehhh, I’ll do it later because I want to watch Sponge Bob Squarepants,” the baby would never reach the milk and eventually the milk would spoil and you wouldn’t be able to drink it. Same thing if we never worked, everyone would become a couch potato and never work and eventually, we would rot. There is only one word that should be illegal to say and it is, LATER!

  20. “DO IT NOW! SOMETIMES BECOMES NEVER” I’ve been trying to improve this for a while now. This quote means a lot to me. My parents have been telling me this for years!(that’s because I don’t like cleaning my room) This is very similar to something my family, and people in India have been saying for years. “If you want to do it Tomorrow, Do it Today. If you want to do it Later Today, do it Right Now.” These quotes are very much alike. Most of the quotes are meaningful, but they don’t all relate to you, but this one is just what I need. If you know me very well, I am very lazy. Many times I tell my parents I’ll do my chores later, and I end up not doing it. On the weekends, I have more work to do because I always say I will do it later. Sometimes my parents let me go, but when I am just laying around, they’d make me get up. I even have this problem with some projects, and I’d have to do them last minute. During the years I have gotten better and better at this, and am pretty good. If I have too much homework one day, I will usually take a little break, otherwise, I have to work till I am done.
Everyday, we have a lot to do as pre teens. Do Homework, Study for tests, Work on projects, Play Video Games, Have FUN! I myself don’t like to work, work, and work! So, my dad had things planned out for me. First I do some homework, then Work a little on the project. After a nice refreshing 30 min. Break, I finish Homework, and then I Have FUN! Planning my day out helps me take care of this problem. My Priority List lets me have fun more than I would if I didn’t have a Planned List. My day is full of fun,and work. Before I got introduced to the Priority List, I’d only have 1 hour to play, now I have 3 and more hours for even more fun!
Nowadays, I don’t have to worry about doing things last minute, and having stress when I am playing. Stress is something else this quote can prevent. If you keep on waiting till last minute, you will have a lot of stress built up in yourself, and that can cause many things to happen. Stomach aches, depression (sometimes), heavy breathing, and tension are some side effects of Stress. We have many ways to follow this quote. My personal favorite is just to manage your tme carefully, and all is well. This quote is basically just telling me to stop procrastinating. I am a champion at procrastination, (ask my dad). Now, I have a better way of not wasting my time, and having more and more fun as I am on my way to becoming a millionaire! “DO IT NOW! SOMETIMES BECOMES NEVER” is a very good quote. Thank You Mrs.Mandell for sharing this, I’ll always keep it at the back of my mind.
