  1. Something that I will always take and hold dear to me is to never give up, especially on my dreams. Having dreams in life and not giving up on them is a very important skill that you should keep in your mind at all times. If you think that something is impossible or is way too hard but you still want to do it, then you have to do it. If you don’t everyone will make fun of you and call you a quitter, you will be called a wuss or a coward. The definition of a quitter is, “ a person who gives up easily or does not have the courage or determination to finish a task.” Would you want to be that person that everyone references to as, ‘that one quitter’ or ‘ugh, he is such a quitter.’ I absolutely would hate to be known as a quitter or someone who doesn’t chase after his dreams. That is why I already planned out my life, maybe. One of the countless realities that would hopefully come true is one in which I’m famous. Not one where everyone hates me like Justin Bieber but one where I cured cancer or something after I accomplish one of my most sought after things, being an astronaut. I could imagine myself being in space on the moon witnessing such beauty and such allure. I would have a wonderful child and wife living in a dreamhouse. My middle school dreams would be to just have fun. Middle school is not really that important for a good education or for your resume. I would just like to get good grades and to try to continue being in honors and GnT. In middle school, I don’t necessarily have any important dreams. In high school things definitely change, there are many things you have to be stressed about and worry for your education. My ideal high school experience is to hopefully do good on my SAT’s and work a lot on my college resume, trying to learn an instrument or sport to add to the list of things. I would also try to find my “special someone/girlfriend.” The usual sort of thing, and these things are much more important than my middle school plan. College, college, college, where should I begin. I would definitely try to get accepted into my dream school, Harvard, Princeton is pretty good too. This is where things get real, I don’t care ‘bout no fun and games, this is where my life turns from the cool kid into the stereotypical nerd who sits inside reading all day. Here is where I will try to make something of myself by majoring in a bunch of mathematics and science related things and graduate. This would definitely be my ideal college. I would work hard after I graduate by working as my dream profession, an astronaut. If I don’t get such a role I wouldn’t be mad at myself if I become a successful doctor or mathematician. This is where I work super hard to try to maintain my life in midst of a ton of work. Lastly comes my adult life where I live in a mansion, the result of all my hard work and efforts that payed off. I would be living with my wife, hopefully, and would be taking care of my kid… goat. Just kidding, it would be my infant, a baby monkey, fine it will be my son who would also work hard and live an amazing life like I would. This would be my dream life, learning at my dream college, working at my dream job, living with my dream wife, and most of all living my life.

  2. Many people tell me to never stop dreaming. Your dreams will come true as long as you never give up. These little things help me believe that things might not be going my way now, but if I just try my best and keep saying that my dreams will come true they will. I feel that people who don’t have dreams don’t have anything to look forward to. If you dream big you will have a big future and you will feel really nice because you have dreamed for it so long and now you’ve finally made it come true. Everyone should have a dream or at least a little thing that they try to do in their life so that you could work to succeed. If you don’t try really hard to make your dream come true they will never come true. If you don’t try at all you will be a quitter because if you want something really bad you should work for it and that is what a dream is. A dream is something that you want so much that you will do anything to make it come true. The first dream I want to explain to you which will come before the others are my middle school dreams. My middle school dream is to be somebody. I don’t just want to be a random person people see in the hallway I want to be known for something. It doesn’t have to be amazing, but I want to be known for something. I want to be remembered when I leave Iselin Middle School. I don’t want to be famous for the whole world to know who I am, but I want some people to remember me. In middle school I would also want to make some memories that I will treasure forever. I want to have friends I like to spend time with almost everyday. In high school it gets a little more important. In high school I want to have a great education so that I could go to a good college and get a good job. In high school I want to focus on my education but my dream is to get good grades and be an A student. I think this is very important in my life because in middle I don’t think the grades really count for anything but in high school I think it will impact my career that's why I really want focus on school. Then when I am an adult I want to have a husband, a son and daughter. My dream is to be a teacher and teach children to love learning. To become a teacher I really need to focus on school so that is another reason why I need have really good grades in high school. I want to a nice cozy family house that I would look forward to when I would be coming home. Overall I just want to have a nice time in middle school which would make a nice high school which would make an amazing life.

  3. Everyone tells me, Be what you want to be. Never Give up. Dream on. Then, some people tell me, Live in reality. Live in the moment. What is a dream? A dream is a small spark of hope that you have, of accomplishing something in life. For that matter, if you ask me, I think all of the quotes I just said were true. Coming to the blog, I think the statement made is very true. For as much time as you dream, your efforts need to keep up. If you dream, and put no effort into reaching it, you can say goodbye to achieving that dream. Let’s start with my incubi. In Middle school, we all know its tough to start off, and then we figure everything out on our own. Unfortunately, if you do too much figuring out by yourself, you might not want to know the consequences. For example, in the beginning of the year, I dreamed of myself to be an A+ student, and found out it's not that easy, the hard way. Language Arts was probably, my most disliked subject, if you know what I’m talking about. The point in this little anecdote is that dreaming too big with no effort can be a struggle, and that there is a limit to everything. If I dream that I wanted to be a super mega spy for the military at age 12, it’s probably not going to happen.. My temporary middle school dreams are, staying in honors, winning the spelling bee, and passing the PARCC test. Right now, my dreams are to have fun, and prepare myself for an occupied life. I have friends in high school, and when I complain about homework, they tell be to be thankful with what I have. One time, they showed me how much homework they had, and believe me, those moments were probably THE most thankful moments of my life. Remember what I said About the reasonableness of your dream? That’s pretty much the only rule there is for dreaming. As long as you follow that, the sky's the limit. My high school dreams are very hypothetical to a lot of people,(*cough, cough gag*, bet this is all of you) but basically, my highschool life is going to make me, a fun, wild, kid that you don’t usually find sitting in a GnT class. It’s all fun and games until you give into that one sip of beer. In high school, I just want to stay focused, and stay on track. This is the four years, perhaps the most important years of my life.It is the turning point. For no, I have a few dreams, not many though. First, want to try to focus on chemistry, so I can possibly get into AP chemistry. Then, I want to try to achieve something special, of extracurricular. I want to be known. I don’t just want to be known as that kid who has hopes at everything. I really don't care if I’m remembered or not, but I want to do something special for JFK Memorial High School. Again, chemistry is not the only thing. If I don’t do well on this, I don’t want a job at Dunkin’ Donuts, (though I love their French Curl donuts) I want to get good grades. And try to accomplish more than I expec, as a boost for my dreams. Then, in college, I want to get into Harvard,Yale, or Caltech division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. You might be thinking “ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?!?” Well, no worries because I feel the same way but, who says you can’t dream? After college, I plan on getting a good job. Adult life is a long, long time from now, but I just want to live in a comfy, sweet home, that I like and live “Happily Ever After” This is the PLANNED life of Arushi Vadali.

  6. Sometimes, our dreams might be unrealistic, and sometimes, our dreams are what you need to reach your goals. For me, my dreams are what push me to try harder to achieve something. I know that without trying hard , my dreams will never be achieved. Something that really infuriates me is how society portrays how your dreams come true. There are many examples, but I will mention a few.
Cinderella- Cinderella is one of the many stories which portrays the art of achieving dreams wrong. The story (in the Grimm brothers version or the Disney version) Cinderella’s dream is to go to the ball, but she is forbidden. She does not even TRY to run away ,after the stepmother and the stepsisters leave, to the ball. She does not even TRY to stitch her own dress, and she does even TRY to stand up to the Stepmother. She needs a godmother to do her bidding.
Snow White- This is the most infuriating story I’ve ever heard. Snow White does nothing for herself. She cleans for 7 dwarves and she can’t even follow the rule “STRANGER DANGER.” Snow White’s dream is to meet a prince, and she doesn’t even aim to try to meet one.

I have many dreams for my own life. I wish to have an adventurous life. I do not want to sit in a office all day from ages 24-60. That seems extremely snore-worthy. I want to make an impact in the world. I want to study Aeronautics. I want to be the person to find an alien in the universe. In my life, I want to have fun.
My dream is to be independant. As i said, I do not want to sit in a office all day. I want to explore the world. My dream is to visit Scotland, and I want to visit Scotland alone. I believe that when you experience things alone, no one can influence the thoughts you have, and you have our own opinion which no one influenced. My dream is to have a strange adventure with my friends in my life. We could run off into the woods in a place we don’t know and have a bonfire. In the middle of the night, we could swim in the lake, and have long and rambling conversations about life. In the night, we could drive an open-roof Jeep in the middle of nowhere, see the stars and trees and abandoned houses and empty landscape. (Of course I would be old enough to drive in this scenario.)But, I wouldn’t be scared, because I would be living my dream.
My middle school dreams are to keep getting good grades and staying in Honors and GnT. For High school, I want to be Valedictorian. For my future, I want to get into an Ivy league college, and I need to study hard for that. After college, I don’t want to plan anything too much. I just want to go with where life brings me, and I want life to surprise me.
My dream is to have an adventurous life, and to enjoy life.

  8. Dreams. A word that brings into mind the endless possibilities of life. Dreams are born from desire, something that leads you to where you want to go. My dreams extend far beyond human imagination. I dream to be happy, something not many people dream of. They dream of having lots of money or being famous. Well, money doesn’t always buy happiness and I could say a million things wrong with being famous. I just want to spend my life with a good supply of loved ones, food, water, oxygen, and a roof over my head, no matter how small it is. But I can’t spend my life just being happy. I need to contribute to this world in some way or another. I dream of helping nature prosper. Cutting down even one tree can damage nature quite badly. I also dream of doing something about the zoo system in this planet. Our fellow members of the animal kingdom do not deserve to be in cages. They could still be in zoos but they deserve to be in wide open spaces. I dream of being a biologist of some sort, preferably a zoologist or an ecologist. Lets wind my dreams a few years back, to the part when I’m in college. My dream is to make my dad’s dreams come true and go to Princeton. There I wish to try and study most of the time on how to make this world a better place. I will try my best and hopefully be a successful graduate. In high school SATs are everything. I need to keep my grades in tip top shape and also try for as many extra-curricular activities as possible. I need to focus on getting a good scholarship. In the present I dream of doing something. I don’t know what exactly but I will do something. I can feel it in my bones. I hope to create more future plans for myself and try to see if I have any natural talents(so far I can’t think of anything). Middle school is a time when your future starts to get more and more clear. All in all I dream of success. There is poster in Mrs. Bicica’s room that says this “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave this world a little better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed special condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.” My dream is to be able to accomplish everything that quote says to do, in fact this quote is the only thing in my bucket list. I have already been able cross a bunch of them off. Others I really can’t do until I’m out of college. I live just to cross those out on my bucket list. The thing is, I don’t want to leave this world a little better, but to leave it way better. That is the purpose of my life, my dream.

  9. Following your dreams sounds parallel to something you heard out of a three year old's book regarding an animal who dreamed about something and accomplished it. However, everyone has a dream as long as they have a want or desire for something, which is only contradicted by being the happiest person on earth. I have a dream(Notice I have begun this like Martin Luther), that one day I will be a cheapskate. Um, no. Forwarding two years later, I wish to have still have gotten fives in my PARCC, and also to have gotten at least one perfect. For just one wish to be done is not enough for me, so I would also prefer to be known for playing a sport with obvious superiority and become even more of a computer geek. Moving on to high school, there is more I want to achieve. Wanting to get high scores on my SATs and ACTs, I would also like to try and make my first robot(if my robot fails, I am going to impale its remains after I crush it). My focus would be on learning chemistry and physics, with marine biology as my backup subject. Approaching college, I would try to get into Princeton and focus on getting graduated with full honors. It would also be a goal for me to be the professor’s favorite student (very unlikely). Earning a doctorate’s degree, I would graduate. I would try my best to have a great life and influence others to try their best. There would be scores of luxury furniture and appliances and personal robots in my home. Better yet, there would also be virtual reality, a teleporter, a brain download station, and a massage station. I would earn all these objects by making detailed dark matter diagrams and would discover and map new materials in the periodic table. I would make the first highly efficient nuclear power plant. I would sit alone in my house, on my virtual reality room or in my work lab. I will make sure to get the Nobel Peace prize. I would also try to monitor the sky with a telescope I launched and would try to search for aliens. Anything suspicious that I would find will be in my notepad. This concludes my dream life. My dream goes from 5s in a standardized test up until making revolutionary changes in chemistry and physics, and a search for possible aliens. However, if my physics and chemistry dream fails, then I would like to become an oceanographer. Breaking the limits of ordinary science, I would aim to lead expeditions into the deep sea, so that we could find new species of animals in the sea, and take steps to prevent these species from dying out because of human settlement in the sea. Some steps I would take include pretending to make my own settlements, but actually just putting a border around the plants. If this happens, then my dream goes from 5s in a standardized test up until discovering deep ends of the ocean and protecting the animals that live here. In conclusion, this is my dream life.

  10. Dreams are a very important part of everyone’s life. Mine, yours, even your neighbors. Every dream varies from the most complicated and diverse dream to the tiniest and compact dream. I, in fact, have many dreams. Many of them are about my future. Like Ms. Mandell said my dreams about my future are very difficult to grasp. In my dreams that have to do with going to school, I just dream of a good education. Things in the “good education” I dream about are going to amazing schools, AP classes, and the best of the best teachers. Going into specifics for middle school I would want to make a lot of friends. This will help me in my future knowing that I have someone to fall back on. For high school, I just want to learn more things and get more intelligent. For college, I would want to slowly start working towards my dream job. For my job dream, I would love a job that pays lots of money. I want a job that pays a lot of money because I want a big house with many rooms or even a mansion. Another thing I want is that I want my job to be fun. A fun or interesting job would be good for me. I think my perfect dream job would be a businessman of some kind. As for life dreams, I probably would be a more of a family man or business man. I overall agree with what Ms. Mandell said. You should never stop dreaming. I think if you did stop dreaming you wouldn’t have any accomplishments or any goals to reach. This will not help you in your future and it might even ruin your future. You can make your dreams come true. I also agree with this very much. I said very much because this happened before. I dreamed of getting an A on the end-of-the-year test. It turned out that I got a 98% on the test. I was so happy to see my test score. Even my parents were happy to see the test grade. Another instance this happened to me was when I dreamed of getting into honors society in fifth grade. It turns out I was the only one in my class selected. Never get rid of your dreams. Again I also agree with this too. All dreams can become true. Even the most bizarre of dreams can come true. The only thing holding you back is well… time. Maybe you dream of aliens that live in your house and shrink at their own will. That probably will be a thing but again the only thing holding you back from that dream is time. Also giving up on dreams will bring you down. You will feel that you can’t do anything if you can’t even achieve your dreams. Overall dreams are a very big part of your life. They will affect your future forever. The past, present, and the future. That will wrap up how my life relates to this topic. Thank you!

  11. Since middle school started, I have had many ideas of what I want to become and what I could achieve to get there. I have had so many dreams about college and getting a job. Many of my friends have their whole life planned out ahead of them. They know what college or what profession they want to go into business in. That is where I don’t understand them. How can you know that you want one specific thing when you still have so much to learn and discover. That is why I have dreams. Dreams that can easily change based on my mood in the day or night. Drams that can lead me in the right direction based on my likings. In middle school, I want to always be in honors classes till the end of middle school and even maybe into high school and through the end to college. I want to take as many extracurricular as possible to get involved with the school. I want to pass the PARCC test with high grades and with flying colors. The thing is though, this could all be my temporary goals. I may want them to change as I move on. I have no guarantee that this is what ill accomplish in middle school but it is what I hope to someday do. HOPE! A dream is something that you hope or want to happen. I have many dreams for middle school, high school, college, and more. My dream life right now is me graduating school with high grades and me getting a gold medal in track. I hope to be as fast as my brother one day, winning medals left and right and even entering in the junior Olympics. I am sure he has dreams to go to the real Olympics someday too. I have many dreams about my adult life too. For instance, when I grow up, I want to have a good, high paying job. I want a job that I like and not something that I am forced to do and not enjoy. I want a job that will help others and I want to make a difference in the world. My dream job at this age is to be a scientist. Scientists help discover new vaccines and help make a difference in the world, but when I was younger, I didn’t want to be a scientist. I wanted to be a chef. The year before that I wanted to be an artist. This proves that you don’t have to follow your own life long plan. Your dreams change and that’s okay. I know that I have one goal that will always stay the same. That is to stay true to my dreams and do what I like. For our G and T project, I chose to research on a person named albert Schweitzer. Do you want to know why I chose him out of so many other people? I chose him because his quote was the only one that had a meaningful advice for anyone who moves forward in life. The quote was “Success is not the key to happiness, Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will always be successful.” This inspired me incredibly because it reminded me of what my grandma told me. “If you don’t love it, why do it?” she said. I will keep dreaming beyond the possibilities of reality and who knows, maybe one of them will come true.

  13. When I say to myself, “I should never stop dreaming,” I also think about what my dreams are in the first place. Without dreams, you cannot enjoy life to its best. Having dreams is a necessity. If you don’t have dreams for the future, MAN, you have life problems. When I think of dreams, I always think of what I need to do to reach those goals. You can’t just achieve them out of thin air, you need to work hard, plan your life that’s ahead of you and take action. “An unrealistic or self-deluding fantasy,” is how google defined a dream but they are wrong. A dream isn’t unrealistic, well obviously it’s in your brain and you are imagining it but that doesn’t mean it will stay a dream forever. Working hard and taking the actions you need to take can help you to achieve that dream. Personally, I have big goals for high school but I know some of them aren’t going to come true because they are pure fantasy. I know there is one dream I had for middle school the day I entered IMS; GET AIR CONDITIONING!!!! For high school, I tend to dream about me getting a perfect score on my SATs and my ACTs. But my main goal in high school is to get a full scholarship for a good college. Since my dreams of becoming a professional NBA player have been crushed by my lovely parents (for the dumbest reason) I really, really want to become photonics engineer. That is my life dream, to become a photonics engineer and be that guy to have money falling on him while he drinks a sundae. #thuglife I am positive that with the right amount of research and with enough hard work, I can be that guy sipping a sundae while bundles of cash fall on him. But that dream is still pretty far away and for that dream to come true, I need to focus on middle school because as everyone says, middle school is the base of your career. As of right now, I am focusing on Language arts and Math because those are the two areas I am going to have to work with in the future. I am also doing my best on PARCC even though my college professor or my job interviewee isn’t going to look at those results. After hearing this, you may think how much hard work is needed to make dreams into reality but that’s the cost for making a dream come true. Dreams aren’t going to just emerge out of thin air. Some dreams are easier to achieve than others but other dreams that take hard work are the ones that make you say to yourself, “So much work, ughhhhhh.” Even I’m lazy but for dreams I know that aren’t just going to become reality, I am ready to take the actions and the hard work it takes to achieve them. My dream for life is to become a successful man who did all he could to make the world a better place for the generations to come. Now ask yourself, “What are my dreams?”

  15. Jiselle D’souza IMS 6th grade

Dreams…..the things that have built the foundation of our lives since the human kind has existed. I’m not talking about the dreams we have at night. No, I am talking about the dreams that motivate us in life to do something special that we have wanted to do. Dreams have helped us portray ourselves when we grow older. They set a goal that we want to achieve in life (be a millionaire, singer, scientist, etc.), or maybe something crazy that you want to do ( hike Mt.Everest zipline across the grand canyon, etc.)

Most people who have been noticed by the great society of our world have had dreams too. Katy Perry probably wanted to be a singer when she was little. That dream motivated her to do better and keep singing until she finally fulfilled her dream. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream (literally.) He dreamed that one day people of all different colors would get along. Dreams do not only affect all stars, they affect us all. They help us vision where we want to be or do in the future.

After explaining to you what dreams are and what they mean, I am finally going to tell you the meaning of the quote “never let go of your dreams” Dreaming is a part of who we are. Everyone has some sort of dream or goal in life. If you let go of your dreams you will be letting go of a part of you. Letting go of your dreams would be giving up on something that you wanted to do. No one likes giving up, especially on something like their dreams.

My dreams in life are very common, but they are special to me. I love singing and almost anything related to music. (Who doesn’t?) I also love sports and art. I do mixed martial arts (judo, karate, taekwondo, street fighting, grappling, etc.), play basketball, and take an art class. I love painting, using oil pastels, using clay and all sorts of creative things. These all go into my personality as well ( I am body kinesthetic, spatial smart, and music smart.) My dream for when I grow up is to be a famous musician (preferably a singer.) If that doesn’t work out I also want to be an athlete that does art in her free time. Even though these dreams aren’t likely to happen, that doesn’t stop me from trying to reach them. If I let go of these dreams I will be giving up almost all of my identity and my dream jobs.

My dreams for middles school and high school are to get good grades, get into the basketball team and track/cross country team, and have good friends. I know these are very small, but if I can achieve these I know i will have a good life in school and ahead of me. I want to get into a good college like Yale so that if my life dreams fail then I will have a backup to get another good job (probably in engineering or math.) I want to get my bachelors degree in music or art and a bachelors and masters degree in math.

All together if you give up on your dreams you won’t be giving up on anyone else and it won’t effect anyone else. It will only affect you. So don’t ever stop your dreaming!

  17. You can make things happen! You always hear that dreams are not real but who says you can’t make them real. Everybody has big dreams. I have big dreams of my own and I know I have to work very hard to accomplish them. My middle school dreams, high school dreams, college dreams, work dreams, life dreams will never end.

Right now, I just want to get out of middle school with good grades and friends. I want to go to high school and have fun. I want to make it on a sports team. I want to become the grade president and be a person everyone likes. I hope I ace my SATs and ACTs and get into a good college. I want to be a neurosurgeon and I know that is going to take a lot of work and studying. Becoming anything I want is going to take a lot of effort, but to achieve anything I will have to work towards it and be positive I want it.

As I grow older, I want to be able to travel the whole world. I want to see everything there is to see. I want to go out on adventures and discover new things. I want to buy myself a big house with a pool, movie theater, elevator, popcorn machine, massage/spa room, sunroom, and my own personal gym. Of course my parents will live with me in my dream house, but only if they want to. I hope to get a range rover and drive around the city.

I want to help make the world a better place to live in. I want to be in a good financial position so that I am able to work and donate to multiple charitable organizations all over the world. For example I can hold soup kitchens for the people in need. I want to walk around everywhere feeling good about myself and knowing I have done well. I want to host parties so I can have fun with everyone and thank all the people who have helped me. I want to stay close to my parents and my sister so I can spend the weekends with them and relax.

As I write all my dreams out, they seem so easy to say, but it isn’t going to be so easy. There is so much to do before I can do any of this stuff. I still have to make it through 6th grade. I still have to make through PARCC without failing. When I am older and have accomplished most of these dreams, I hope to look back at this blog and remember how I thought most of these things were impossible. There are people who have their life all planned out already and then there are others who do things as time comes. I can’t wait to see where life will take me. I can’t wait to see how things will go down. I hope to live my life to the fullest and make an impact on the society around me.

  18. Dreams are the things that direct me in my life. They are the things that keep me going, and I have lots of them to fulfil. As a sixth grader, I want to be able to maintain good grades, honors classes, and a good behavior. I want to achieve any opportunity that comes my way to help me in my future. My dream sport to play is tennis, and I hope to fulfil it as I get older. I hope to get into a good college like Stanford University or Princeton University when I’m older. I want to join their law school, since for now I want to be a lawyer. It would be incredible to be able to become a lawyer in one of the best colleges in the world. Though it may be difficult, I will try my very best to get into on of these law schools, that will lead me to a path of success. I will NEVER stop dreaming. That is the one thing that keeps my life moving smoothly. I always have something or another to do to fulfil a dream. I have had many dreams, and I will continue to have dreams to try to fulfil them, and there is always a chance that I can make them come true. I dream day and night, pondering about what I can achieve next in my life to make it better, and more successful. I will work very hard because I want to be able to fulfil my dreams. I don’t want to just make a whole bunch of great dreams that go down the drain cause I don’t work hard enough to accomplish them. I think hard before I make the decision of making a dream because I need to make sure that it isn’t something that I don’t care about. A dream has to be something meaningful that I would want to accomplish. If I let go of my dreams, I can’t imagine the huge turn my life would take. I know it would not be easy at all to accomplish the massive dreams that I have now, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to succeed, and keep dreaming. Start small and grow big. I can start just by simply studying harder, and working for what I want to accomplish as a twelve year old. My future can only grow, it will not get smaller. As I keep dreaming, my mind will guide me so I can keep a steady future ahead of me. I can dream big, but that doesn’t guarantee that I will fulfil that dream. And that is something we all have to learn and go through. Everything doesn’t go your way, and we all have to understand and accept that. Just because something doesn’t go your way doesn’t mean all of your dreams are crushed. Nothing can stop you from dreaming cause there will always be another route to take if the first path takes a wrong turn.

  19. Most people have dreams. Big ones or small ones. Even the most successful people had dreams and that is what has made them what they are today. Whether they are to become a scientist and discover new and amazing things, or become a star basketball player and be the highest paid player in the league, people dream about their future. I have dreams for the future just like everyone else. But, my dreams change through time. It happens to everyone. For example, when I was 3 years old, I had a dream to become a princess. Now, it changed.
For me, dreams are the only way to success. If you stop dreaming, your goal for becoming a lawyer will not come true. It is just not enough to dream and forget about that dream. If you let your dream go, there will be no purpose for your future. Many people dream, but only some wake up and work for it. So, what I’m trying to say is that you have to work hard in order for your dream to become accomplished.
Well, now that I have an idea of how the rest of middle school is going to be like, I have dreams and goals for the next 3 years of my life. First of all, I want to continue getting good grades. I want to continue being on honor roll and being in honors math. Another dream for middle school is to get into honors reading//writing. I also want to get into select choir. For me, I love singing. People may not think I’m good at it, but I think I am. That’s another part of accomplishing your dreams. You have to believe in yourself. Then you’re half way there. I also want to get on the girls basketball team. I’ve been playing basketball since I was in 3rd grade. It’s my favorite sport. That is why every day I practice shooting. Like I said before, hard-work always pays off. I’m thinking about all these dreams and goals right now. This will help me go through the imaginary path that leads me to success. If I don’t start thinking right now, I won’t have an aim for the future. All my education and values will go into waste. After I have completed middle school with flying colors, I will be off to high school where all the magic happens. This is the time I’ll use all the knowledge I’ve learned throughout the years to become a better human being. It’s not just that, I will pass the SAT’s, join clubs that I’m interested in, learn more. I also have a dream to start working during high school to make some money. And that would finally make my way to adulthood. With all the dreams that I will have passed, I could finally make it to Harvard. Harvard is my dream university. At Harvard, I plan to make great efforts toward the medical field. My dream is to become a pediatrician. I want to make the world a healthier place, help children, and help the next generation yet to come. All this will happen as long as I keep dreaming. And, some advice for you… “NEVER LET GO OF YOUR DREAMS!” This is because, you never know where they will take you.

  20. For many people like myself, dreams are... Well dreams. A fantasy. Something way out of reach for normal people. If you know me in real life, you would know that I’m pessimist due to the fact that anything that happens will be 100 ranks below my expectations. So I treat dreams as something I yearn for but know will never happen. But dreams are still important as it sets goals for us and gives us things to accomplish. I still want to achieve my dreams cause even if I fail, at least I tried. At least I wasn’t a wuss and just sat on my couch watching tv afraid of society. Currently I do plan to do to college (obviously) but maybe not for the same reason.
If you didn’t know, the creator of Apple was Steve Jobs. Most people, would go to college and get an engineering and computer science degree but that isn’t what he did. He never majored in anything and attended classes for calligraphy. So how did he use those skills that he learned? Well he was able to make fonts for the iPhone. It sounds dumb but hear me out. I want to go to college to learn, not just to get a degree. Steve Jobs proves that you don’t need to go to college to be successful, you just need the motivation to do it. My passion is computers and technology. Since I was 3 years old, I had been using technology constantly. Learning new things along the way. Most people are consumers and only use the products. Anyone with a brain and a hand could do it. But designing and making is something completely different. I’ve learned to make cartoon pictures from nothing but a line art tool. And funny videos like text lyric pranks or slideshow roasts. The point is, my dream is to go to college and learn so I can live a different live than other people. Most people will get a degree and be stuck in a 9 to 5 job for the rest of their lives. I want to be self-employed and start up a tech company that may change the whole world as we know it. But that’s not it. My real dream is to be accepted in by society. Not an outcast. Someone where people will hear my name and say “I know that guy! He is so cool!”. (I mean it probably won’t happen but that’s the point of this dream). When I’m older, I want to be known for the life I lived and what I actually did for society. Not just that, “Oh he had a million dollars”. Cause that’s boring. Technically anyone can be a millionaire if they just don’t spend their money. But when I’m old and broken and laying in that hospital bed next to my wife and kids, I want to be happy with what I did. To feel like my life wasn’t a waste. To feel like I made an impact on society and if I wasn’t there, the world would be a different place. Then I can die happy knowing that my life was amazing.

  21. Dreams. Different people have different opinions about them. Lot’s of those positive, famous people and T-shirt messages tell us to “Follow your Dreams,” or “Dream on.” Other annoying practical people say things like “Get your head out of the clouds!” or “Get back to reality.” All of us have dreams, but they’re all different. One person might have a completely different dream then the person next to them. Some people think of dreams as fantasy, a thing of fiction that couldn’t possibly come true. Most people encourage us to keep on dreaming, and to never stop believing in them. Martin Luther King Jr. believed in equal rights and for all people to be treated equally. Martin Luther King Jr. worked hard to get to his “I Have a Dream” speech and soon after, equal rights. I found a quote that said, “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” - Colin Powell. Powell is completely right. Life isn’t like some disney movie where you just make a wish and your fairy godmother or a magic dwarf does all the hard work for you. You have to dream big and work hard to achieve great things. Michael Jordan didn’t just call for his fairy godmother to become a great basketball player, like what Cinderella did. George Washington didn’t throw down his hat and quit after his first defeat in the Revolutionary War. They all worked hard to achieve their dreams and goals. Martin Luther King Jr. finally got the government to make civil rights laws. Michael Jordan became a legendary basketball player. And George Washington helped the Patriots win the war and win America’s independence. All of these people had big dreams that they worked hard to achieve, and we should all work hard to achieve ours.
Me? I have changing dreams. For middle school I dream that I will maintain high grades and participate in after/before-school activities. I also hope that I will get to play sports like basketball and softball at school. I also want to continue playing clarinet throughout middle school and high school. I dream that during high school I can still maintain high grades for a good scholarship for a great college. I’m not really sure where I want to go to college yet. I hope to participate in different sports and clubs in high school. I dream that I may become a game designer and create famous and awesome video games for the kids. I hope to get great degrees in mathematics and science to achieve my dream of a computer scientist. I hope that I’ll be able to settle in a nice looking house with my parents (I couldn’t survive without them!) They tease me a lot about Amber and I getting houses and them either living with us or living on their own. Maybe I’ll be able to raise enough money to go on vacation every once in awhile. Maybe I’ll even get to go to the Philippines some time!

  22. As middle school students, the future is very hard to grasp. My dream life is to be like Paul Walker. To be like Paul Walker is my dream life because he is very inspirational. Even though he is a celebrity he still goes on trips to everywhere all around the world to help those in need. For example, the Philippines right after a typhoon hit. As a regular human being, you would think that Paul Walker would expect a red carpet ready for him to take pictures. But, he actually did not expect that because he went to the Philippines for those in need, not for his own benefit of popularity. One reason why I would want to be like him is because I would always want to be encouraging, always in a happy mood, loving, caring, and so much more. My middle school dream is to do very well in every class and make a lot of friends. I know that these are things that you do not expect other people to dream about in their middle school years, but I do. I would want to do very well in all of my classes because I want to try to meet higher than my expectations, and definitely my teacher's expectations. I would want to make a lot of friends because having a lot of friends just makes me happy. Each and every single friend has a unique way of cheering me up. I know that some people would want more middle school dreams, but I just want to keep everything simple for now, I do not want to make anything to personal yet. My high school dream is to do well in all my classes, make more friends, join a sports club, and be free of stress. The first two has the same reasons as the middle school dreams. I would want to join a sport because I am very athletic and I always dreamed of joining a sports club. I think that high school would be the best time because by then, I would already know how to maintain a good grade that meets my teacher's expectations. I would want to be stress free because I never get to feel relaxed, and by high school I think that I will have good time management, and I do not always have to stress out about homework and things like that. My college dream is to do the best that I can, help those in need, and excel in all of my classes. I would want to do the best that I can because I want to get scholarships and things like that. In college, I would want to find a job that would not only help my benefit of my capability, but that would help those in need, for example, in the medical field. I would want to excel in all of my classes because I would want to get the highest degree there is to show my parents how much hard work they have put me into to get a very good job.

  23. Something my parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts tell me to do is to DREAM BIG, and to work hard, and smart to fulfil them. Dreaming is something I’ve been doing as an infant, but Dreaming Big is something I started to do when I started school. My Dreams were not all about unicorns, wizards, or Dora the Explorer (though some were ). I used to dream about becoming a doctor, and becoming a millionaire! Well, in the future would learn that there were more things to life than just being a doctor. Since that day, I ‘ve been dreaming about becoming a…. business woman, CEO, neurologist, computer programmer, Chemist, Oceanographer, Zoologist, etc. Now, I am filled with possibilities! In Elementary, I just wanted to pass 5th grade with straight A’s, and being in Student Council (I achieved my dreams with enough effort!). One thing I was wanting for a while was to go into G&T, which I obviously achieved. In 5th grade, my teacher saw a lot of potential in me. She recommended me for Math Honors, ELA Honors, and the Gifted and Talented Program! Every day after taking all the tests, I dreamt about one thing, Me, Honors, G&T. Surprisingly, I had made it into all of them! The Math honors test was really hard for me, so I kind of expected a bad result. Then, a couple of months later, I found out I’ve made it in! For me, school is very important, and I’ve always wanted to get a scholarship into an IVY League college. Whenever my parents tell me that if I don’t work hard, I’ll get into a Community College, and that is a dream that I’ve never had. At this point, I mainly want to go ahead in Finance, and MIT is great for it. It’s not Ivy League, but it’ll help me in my career. My uncle has worked on Wall St. after studying Finance in Rutgers, so why can’t I? The same uncle passed all the important exams in one shot (which is very rare, it takes at least 2 tries for many to complete one exam), one day I want to do the same.
I also have many goals/dreams for things other than school. Ever since I learned how to say dog, I have been wanting one! Throughout the years, I have changed breeds, From a German Shepard to a tiny purse sized Yorkie. I know I am not going to get one from my parents, but why not dream about it? I might as well get one for myself when get older. At last, I just want to live a happy life. My Moto is: You are never successful if you are never Happy! My plan is to live a successful, and Happy life. Another thing I want to do is volunteer. Whenever or wherever I’ve volunteered, I feel a bit of joy, for helping those who can’t do much. Helping others is always a good deed. Just like me, there are thousands out there with Big Dreams, and goals. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Wilma Rudolph, Obama, George Washington, President Hoover as well. I HAVE A DREAM!
